La Mutinerie

La Mutinerie is a feminist bar by and for women, lesbians, bi people, queers and/or trans people. The venue is in danger of closing due to management decisions, Covid, the PGE, and compliance renovation works. 1. La Mutinerie is in absolute dire straits, but things are improving thanks to the mobilisation that made the first fundraising drive a success, 2. If you want to support us, the first priority is to help us get through the next 3 months by coming to have a drink with us alongside all your mates, your chosen families, your wider circles, your brass bands, your woke bridge club, etc... More info here We strive to keep the venue alive by ensuring it remains as accessible as possible at all times (low prices, no paid-entry parties, etc..), whilst continually working to improve our working conditions. There are no hierarchical relationships at La Mutinerie, the business and the money generated by the bar are collectivised and decisions (big or small) are all made by vote. As much as a community social space or a place for political and cultural reflection, La Mutinerie is also a tool for redistributing queer money within the community; notably by collaborating exclusively with women and/or queer artists and contributors, or by regularly donating 10 to 15% of turnover to collectives and nonprofits during fundraising parties. We hope to make this venue more inclusive than what already exists in Paris. We refuse to ignore racism, sexism, transphobia and classism, which exist even within our own communities. We want to create spaces for reflection and collective struggle against these oppressions.
