The first historic delegation of the Association, the Hérault delegation opened its doors in January 2003. It is actively engaged around the young people it supports, thanks to the ongoing commitment of team members, both volunteers and paid staff. Its 7 flats can accommodate up to 12 young people simultaneously, alongside 4 hotel bed spaces available when needed, particularly during the winter period. Our welcome centre is open during the week so that young people can come and meet us, exchange, build connections, and undertake various administrative steps. Our 3 collective drop-in sessions punctuate the weekly life of the delegation with a variety of themes: board games, debates, meals, cultural visits, outings and leisure activities, with the aim of breaking isolation, facilitating access to activities, and strengthening group cohesion. Young people are seen weekly by our social worker, who listens to them, guides them, and supports them with all their social, professional, and administrative steps, as well as housing and budget management. They are also supported by our partners in the field of social inclusion — Mission Local, Pôle Emploi, Accélaire 34 — and additionally benefit from services provided by our nonprofit partners in the areas of health, prevention, and well-being. From Sunday to Thursday, volunteers take turns each evening to spend a convivial and dedicated moment with the young people, whilst ensuring the smooth running of daily communal life during overnight drop-in sessions within our accommodation provision. In addition to the multidisciplinary support offered to young people who are victims of homophobia, the delegation is particularly active with the Académie de Montpellier, the PJJ 34, and local vocational training bodies (IFSI, IRTS, etc.), and regularly delivers two-hour workshops on prevention and the fight against homophobia and transphobia — > School-Based Intervention, in several establishments in Montpellier and the Hérault.
